The color, sensual, pure and unmixed, has always fascinated me. With its potential for change, the language of color opens up new worlds.
I like to walk in the landscape and sometimes make quick sketches to later take into the studio, together with memories and impressions of light and atmosphere. Sketches that can be transformed into more or less abstract images.
The importance of light, the quality of light is an important part of my painting. I paint intuitively, based on an idea. One color gives tone to the next. I try, change, make
newer layer. Sometimes a painting goes quickly, many times it take a longer time. What I first imagined, many times ends with something completely different. The process itself creates new choices all the time.
The inherent capacity of colors to both clarify and to express things that cannot be expressed in words, are endless. Therefore painting for me is a journey that can be both enjoyable and difficult, but always enriching.
